Welcome to Day two, where nothing happened that we had planned, but still such a wonderful day. So thankful that we built time in to just do something we find with no schedule. We left our room at Quality Inn Mystic and headed downtown. We got our 3000 steps in as we waited for the Knot Shop to open. It was wet enough out for our rain gear but mostly just an annoying drizzle. We enjoyed the shops downtown and the walk along the boardwalk.

We decided to head to Newport a little earlier since we couldn't bike today. We connected with Ryan's former soccer coach and set up to meet him for dinner tonight. Our schooner ride in Newport was cancelled. But we didn't feel too badly since we got one in last night. What we did find to do was take a tour through The Breakers Mansion, home to the Vanderbilts. All I can say is Wow! Pictures sure don't do it justice. We downloaded the app and listened to the tour guide through our phone…never did that before. It was very well done and we could move at our own pace. We walked along the grounds too and saw where the Cliff walk goes through that we plan to take tomorrow. My favorite spot was the outdoor balcony overlooking the water!

Then we found our way around the city and got ourselves to the Ocean Drive…10 miles of beauty that we hope to bike tomorrow. I will throw in a few pics to whet your appetite. Hopefully the sun will peak out tomorrow so the pics will be more vibrant. We will start at Fort Adams.

We wound our way down the city streets to a little bed and breakfast, called the Admiral's Inn. Comfy bed, little bath room and free breakfast in the morning. The hostess is quite a trip and really puts herself out for us. She is a firecracker! We are right close to downtown.

Now time for a short rest before meeting up with Bill tonight for dinner. Carmen is in Ohio caring for her Mom, so we won't get to see her (go figure) but hopefully we can catch up with her the next time she comes home. Prayers for her Mom, please. We met Bill at the Brick Alley for a wonderful dinner. I had chicken piccata and the guys had scallops. What a visit we had! Bill was heading out fishing and we headed back to our B&B. Thank you, Lord for forever friends! And I am soooo mad at myself for not getting a pic together with Bill!

We also, went through 3 of those "mansions when we visited R.I. And was awed by the grandeur of it all! I told Johnny today we need to revisit the Boston and Plymouth area again. I envy you, two!!😊
